Nokia Launched New Phablet Lumia 1520 at Rs 46,999

 Nokia has launched its new flagship smartphone, Lumia 1520 in the Indian smartphone market. The handset is the first Nokia device with a 6-inch screen and quad-core processor and was unveiled globally in Abu Dhabi in September. At Rs 46,999, it is among the most expensive Nokia smartphones in the market.

Lumia 1520 has a full HD (1080p) display and runs on a 2.2GHz quad-core Snapdragon 800 processor, the most powerful in the world right now. On the back, this handset sports a 20MP PureView camera with optical image stabilization.

The handset also has 2GB RAM, 32GB internal storage and supports microSD cards for expandable storage. Powered by a 3,400mAh, Lumia 1520 has connectivity options like 2G, 3G, 4G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, microUSB and NFC.

The new Nokia Lumia 1520 will compete against the likes of Samsung Galaxy Note 3, HTC One Max and Sony Xperia Z Ultra.

Nokia has also launched a back cover for the Lumia 1520 at Rs 2,999 at the same event.

Asus Fonepad 7 voice-calling tablet launched at Rs. 17,499

Asus has launched the new version of its Fonepad 7 tablet in India for Rs. 17,499. The tablet, which also comes with voice calling support, will be available starting November.

The new Fonepad 7 was initially announced in September at IFA 2013, Berlin.

The new Asus Fonepad 7 is powered by a dual-core 1.6GHz Intel Atom Z2560 processor alongside 1GB of RAM but retains the same 7-inch 1280x800 display. It comes with dual-front speakers with Asus SonicMaster audio technology.

Celkon C76 Feature Phone Supports 8 Indian Languages, Price Is Rs. 1,899

Celkon Mobiles in India has launched a new feature phone called Celkon C76 that is basic at its core and brings an interesting feature of supporting eight Indian languages which include - Hindi, Gujarati, Punjabi, Bengali, Tamil, Telugu and Kannada. The phone was first unveiled in September 2013 and now it is available for buying across online sites and retails stores at a price of Rs. 1,899. The phone supports Dual SIM cards (GSM+GSM) and features a 2.8 inch TFT screen with 240 x 320 pixels resolution. The sound alert types available are Vibration, Polyphonic and MP3 ringtones.
Using the 3.5mm jack, users can plug-in earphones and listen to FM Radio. The rear camera is 1.3 megapixel one and supports video recording at 1280 x 1024 pixels, but there is not front cam. The microSD card support brings memory expandable up to 8 GB. For connectivity, users can have options of GPRS, EDGE, WLAN, Bluetooth and USB. Using the MP3/WAV player inbuilt in the feature phone, users can listen to music on-the-go. The Li-Ion 1400 mAh battery provides just about average battery life. "Introducing a multi-lingual phone will reach out to the majority people spread across the regional boundaries. This will enable users to send text messages in their respective mother tongue and perform other linguistic activity,” says Y Guru, Chairman and Managing director, Celkon Mobiles.

HTC launches Desire 501, 601 & 700 in India, starting INR 16,890

The HTC Desire 501 and its siblings, the Desire 601 and a phablet that goes by the name of Desire 700 have been launched in India. These smartphones were introduced in Taiwan not long ago and now they have come to the subcontinent with a view to take on the mid-range segment. Their exact launch details have not been revealed.


The HTC Desire 700 dual SIM smartphone is the biggest amongst them as it accommodates a 5-inch touchscreen that is capable of rendering qHD visuals, on its chassis measuring 145.5 x 72 x 10.3 millimeters. Based on the Android OS garnished with Sense UI, the device acquires steam from a quad core processor ticking at 1.2GHz, 1GB of RAM and a 2100mAh battery. An 8MP camera and a 2.1MP webcam have also been thrown into the mix.

iBall Andi 5.5N2 Quadro with 5.5-inch HD display available online at Rs. 13,215

The iBall Andi smartphone range has been expanded with the introduction of the Andi 5.5N2 Quadro. The new phablet is available at an e-commerce website for Rs. 13,215, and hasn't yet been officially launched or listed by iBall.

The iBall Andi 5.5N2 Quadro runs Android 4.2 Jelly Bean. It is a dual-SIM smartphone with support for GSM+GSM. The Andi 5.5N2 Quadro features a 5.5-inch HD (720x1280 pixels) IPS display. It is powered by a quad-core 1.2GHz processor (unspecified chipset) along with 1GB of RAM. It sports a 12-megapixel rear autofocus camera with LED flash and also houses a 2-megapixel front-facing camera.

There is 4GB of inbuilt storage on the Andi 5.5N2 Quadro, which can be further expanded up to 32GB via microSD card. The Andi 5.5N2 Quadro comes with a 2500mAh battery. Connectivity options on the phablet include Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPRS, EDGE, GPS, Micro-USB and 3G. The iBall Andi 5.5N2 Quadro is currently available at Snapdeal.
Earlier, iBall introduced two new affordable smartphones in India, the Andi 5-E7 and Andi 5-M8.

Both the iBall Andi 5-E7 and Andi 5-M8 smartphones have been listed at company's site with Rs. 8,199 and Rs. 8,999 pricing respectively.
The iBall Andi 5-E7 runs Android 4.2 Jelly Bean. It is a dual-SIM smartphone with support for GSM+GSM. The Andi 5-E7 features a 5-inch FWVGA (480x854 pixels) display. It is powered by a 1.3GHz dual-core Cortex A7 processor (unspecified chipset) along with 512MB of RAM. It sports a 5-megapixel rear autofocus camera with LED flash and also houses a VGA front-facing camera.
On the other hand, the iBall Andi 5-M8 runs Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean. It is a dual-SIM (GSM+GSM) device with dual standby support, and unlike the Andi 5-E7, offers 3G connectivity. It also has a larger 8-megapixel rear camera than the Andi 5-E7, with LED flash, apart from its VGA front-facing camera. It features a 5-inch display with a resolution of 480x854 pixels. The smartphone is powered by 1.3GHz dual-core Cortex A7 processor (unspecified chipset) alongside 512MB of RAM.
